One of the best things about saving is, there is no limit! You can save today, tomorrow and the next day! But how does a young professional trying to create a path in this crazy world find the time to save when we have to remind ourselves to eat! One of my go to saving avenues is the round up to save up technique. I have linked all my major checking accounts to a third party account which rounds all my transactions to the nearest dollar and saves the extra. So, for example, I bought an amazing jacket online the other night, if the jacket cost $42,60 after taxes, then my app will round the transaction to $43 and the extra .40 cents will go into my savings account. For those who carry or spend cash more often then cards you can still use this technique with coins. Each time you pay in cash take your change and put it in a savings jar when you arrive home. (Dont forget to save all important receipts) You can even make a cool piggy bank! This most likely wont be your only form of saving but it is a quick and simple way to save some extra cash! Below is a list of simple steps to further your journey in knowing the beauty of saving!
1. GET A CHECKING & SAVINGS ACCOUNT
2. GET ANOTHER SAVINGS ACCOUNT
3. CREATE A LIST OF MONTHLY EXPENSES/INCOME
4. SET A BUDGET (USE THE BUDGET)
5. TRY TO SAVE %20 OF YOUR MONTHLY INCOME
